Where Innovation Meets Sustainability
At Mid America Agri Products/Wheatland (MAAPW), we are redefining ethanol production through cutting-edge innovation, sustainable practices, and strategic partnerships. Located in Madrid, Nebraska, our facility is committed to producing high-quality ethanol while maximizing the value of every co-product, reducing waste, and leading the way in carbon reduction.
Sustainable Byproducts: Maximizing Every Resource
At MAAPW, sustainability goes beyond ethanol. We embrace a circular economy by ensuring every co-product has a valuable purpose, reducing waste, and supporting other industries.
- Wet Distillers’ Grains with Solubles (WDGS): A high-protein animal feed that supports local cattle operations while minimizing agricultural waste.
- Distillers’ Corn Oil (DCO): A crucial ingredient in biodiesel production, contributing to cleaner fuel alternatives.
- Biogenic CO2 Utilization: Our participation in the Trailblazer CO2 Pipeline will enable long-term carbon sequestration, reducing emissions and supporting sustainable ethanol production.

Strengthening Nebraska’s Economy and Agricultural Community
MAAPW is deeply connected to Nebraska’s agricultural roots, working closely with local farmers, co-ops, and grain merchandisers to create a sustainable supply chain. The ethanol industry supports 6,000 full-time jobs in Nebraska and contributes $4.5 billion to the state’s annual GDP. By investing in advanced ethanol production, we are not only driving renewable energy growth but also strengthening rural economies.
We are dedicated to improving efficiency, lowering emissions, and integrating groundbreaking technology to create cleaner, more sustainable biofuels.
- Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS): In 2022, we implemented CCS technology to significantly lower our carbon footprint. By 2025, our plant will be among the top 10% of U.S. ethanol facilities equipped with this system, positioning MAAPW as a leader in sustainable biofuel production.
- Efficient Production: Our facility grinds approximately 16.5 million bushels of corn annually, yielding:
- 48 million gallons of high-quality ethanol
- 400,000 tons of Wet Distillers’ Grains with Solubles (WDGS)
- 16.5 million pounds of Distillers’ Corn Oil (DCO)
- 140,000 metric tons of Biogenic CO2
