Carbon Capture and Sequestration
In 2022, MAAPW took a significant step toward sustainability by implementing Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) technology. This transformative initiative is helping reduce carbon emissions, boost environmental responsibility, and set the stage for a cleaner, more sustainable future in the ethanol industry.
MAAPW will become one of the few ethanol plants in the U.S. to implement CCS. By the end of 2025, MAAPW will be one of fewer than 10% of the country's ethanol plants equipped to sequester carbon. This technology will dramatically shrink our carbon footprint, paving the way for us to lead the charge in sustainable biofuel innovation.
